Francesca Parvizyar is an expert in international relations involved in promoting Italian excellence in the United States, with a particular focus on the cities of Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.

After a career in opera singing, she embarked on a path in institutional relations and cultural diplomacy, founding the company Francesca Parvizyar International Events, which specializes in supporting Italian companies seeking to develop their presence in the U.S. market.

Since 2015, she has served as Chicago’s Ambassador to Milan, a position conferred upon her by then-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, former Chief of Staff to U.S. President Barack Obama. Her appointment marked a historic milestone, as until that time the role had been reserved exclusively for U.S. citizens.

In 2022, she received the prestigious Ambrogino d’Oro for her contribution to the cultural and international promotion of Italy. Additionally, the Presidency of the Italian Republic awarded her two gold medals for her commitment and dedication to spreading Italian culture in North America.

Throughout her career, she has conceived and promoted numerous cultural events that bring together Italian art, music, gastronomy, and entrepreneurship, helping to strengthen relations between Italy and the United States by showcasing talent, traditions, and innovation.

Among her most significant projects, her contribution to the First U.S. Biennial in Chicago, the only one of its kind in the United States, stands out, where she supported and promoted the Bosco Verticale project. Her work played a significant role in raising the project’s international profile, helping to establish Bosco verticale as one of the world’s most beautiful skyscrapers, rivaling America’s new architectural landmarks.
